It’s not until you find yourself in an open field that you see the horizon is all around you.
It’s not a straight line. It’s a circle.
We are surrounded. It could come from anywhere.
Nobody knows exactly when it happened. At some point, while we were binge-watching House of Cards, while we were refreshing our online newsfeeds, while we were waiting for our packages to be delivered, or the groceries we ordered online.
Somewhere along the line fear has crept into our lives and crawled beneath our skin.
A pale-looking man is telling a story about fear. Standing on the city walls he is addressing us. The prologue. It’s a job that should be done by one of the gods, but in their absence, a mere mortal is speaking to us. He is recounting the story of an unsuspecting young woman who, just before the city’s downfall, is getting ready to go to a party, only to return from it in desperation.
Q&A is a contemporary myth about fear, guilt, responsibility and the relativity of profit and loss.
